How We Help
The Avon Federated Church seeks to provide people with inspiration, help and hope. Thus, we want to hear from you regarding how we can do that in some new and beneficial ways.
We already do many things in the community. We hold worship services. We offer a Bible study, a Sunday school and a choir. We help support an area food pantry. Our building is used regularly for things like meetings and the bloodmobile. Groups like Girl Scouts and 4-H meet in our building on a regular basis. The Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) uses our building to take applications. We sponsor fun and educational trips to places like Chicago, Springfield and St. Louis. We attend dinner theaters together. We have done things such as host a self-defense class for women and teenage girls.
What events or activities would you like to see the Federated Church offer? What does the community need? What do YOU need? How can we help you seek answers to questions about life, God and faith? How can we help you have fun and fellowship? Your ideas do not necessarily have to be religious - just honest!
We invite you to send your thoughts, ideas and questions to Rev. Jon Prain. You can phone or text him at (309) 255-6702, or send an email to [email protected].
